long distance lovers reunite in the netherlands for a quiet week in a spherical house. their small, shared universe swirls with earthly delights, astral dreams, and cosmic cycles. music, art, and warm spring winds come and go and come around again. clouds gather and disperse, tulips bloom and fall apart, hearts flutter and break, and the old world is made new.

ADAMSON | produced by MADELEINE BERSIN | supported in part by a grant from the CITY ARTIST CORPS
before anyone arrived, we left our houses wearing masks. we rehearsed for weeks in airy sunlit rooms, in our apartments, in rented studios. we rented a theater that was once a warehouse. we painted the floor and built a stage and pretended it was a spherical house. people came from anywhere. we sat in a circle of chairs, all looking inward & through the center & at each other across the stage. lights changed, sounds and music played, time moved in queer ways. for about an hour, it seemed as if a week was passing, characters seemed to come and go and change. actors gave voice to memorized text: descriptions of other places, other times, scientific understanding, history, other works of art. their hearts seemed to race and break and heal. at the end of the play, the big warehouse door clattered open and sun- or streetlight revealed our artifice. the actors bowed. we stood and spoke and looked around. many left, but some of us stayed, and others came and we did it all again.
